The world is so endowed with people who are passionate about a cause that can have a positive impact and add value to other peoples live and the human race in its entirety.
In this article, Let’s take the word zest for passion and run with that steadily.
The term passion has been thrown around and dashed for something else.
WHAT PASSION IS NOT
By passion in this context, I don’t mean to say some romantic or emotional desire of love or hate, no far from it.
The finest word for it in the business parlance is compassion – A deep awareness of the suffering of another, coupled with the wish to relieve it. You read that right;
Really, Its not all about you, its a lot more about the problem you are interested in and passionate about solving in your society or in the world for others.
You can build a media brand that make a difference and a profitable business that scale around your passion.
Passion is the reason I could give my life to make research, write the piece you are consuming now and hold a session all day long – (even though am just waking up from sleep), on teaching founders how to become a media influencer/ Internet celebrity their way by building a media brand so designed around a business idea to make a difference in the world – for fame and fortune, and of course without a single degree from any ivy league colleges. I know you like this one huh! and hey, who doesn’t like that. I like it, I live for that.
It’s the best time in history we live in, you can easily monetize your passion, make a name for yourself. You can become just about anything you are passionate about, that’s the spirit.
It doesn’t matter your country code, your color, creed, educational background or socio-financial status.
The most obvious reason why people fail woefully in business is this “self ” syndrome of a thing. If you think you have a business idea that follows only your passion and interest at the expense of others.
Well, nice have it, it’s good for your family. But am afraid to disappoint you and that’s because what you do have is not a business, but a hobby – which is cool, but being a hobbyist doesn’t cut it, it won’t pay the bills that much.
No one pay you but you. You get “yourself employed” and get yourself paid.
Don’t you forget that the sole purpose why you are in business is for others and not you, else your so called business in quote won’t grow beyond you.
One big pit startup fall into is try to jump at “what will make the most money?” and hoping they like it, instead of starting with what they are most passionate about and figure out how to do that profitably.
You don’t find what thing to sell, you find out first, who is interested in your offering – what you are interested in to sell.
“THANK GOD IT’S FRIDAY” cliche.
Make sure you pick something your are interested and passionate about because you are going to be in it for a long haul in the event that things go south and you feel like throwing in the towel, passion will keep you on course. Or else you are going to have the most miserable time of your life doing what you hate. No! you don’t want that to happen to you, or do you?. The more you do something you are not passionate about, the less demand you are making on your potential, the less productive, happy and fulfilled you get out of the life of you, the more opportunities and money you will be leaving on the table.
If you do what you are in love with, you will of course be in love with what you do. What a paradox, but that is it.
I have never seen an entrepreneur who is not passionate about what they do, not that I know. You only find that with folks who work a job for the money, no meaning no purpose. And oh! They hate Monday morning and they “thank God it’s Friday”
As for the called out.. every other day is a great day, a day to be excited to do great work. That’s what get you going at the time when the going gets really tough. the cash may not flow in on a regular basis as would a 9 to 5(er), but the great thing is the freedom that accrues from chasing your dream your way without restrain and becoming all that the unlimited you can become. And yes, that’s who ya are – You unlimited.
Most people hide under the guise that “I don’t have a clue what my passion is.” And use that as an excuse to work a drab job.”
You know down well the things that arouse your interest, provoke your thought, makes you tick, you know what you like and dislike, what calls the frustration out of you that you had wished could be changed, done better, simplified for others and want to spend your time doing. A positive answer to these queries point to your true North. Shows you are on the right course or path to finding your passion.
The question now is what’s holding you back from building a life of your dream, or a business, brand around your passion.
Fear! of the unknown? I doubt very much, you can’t be afraid of what you love!
You don’t need to have it all figured out from the get go before you get started, no one does. You learn in the process, you only need to start to become a star.
Let suppose for a moment that you enjoy teaching music, start a music academy. If your passionate about giving care to outpatient, start a clinic business ( you don’t need to be a medical practitioner you only need to know how to work with other smart medical practitioners). Well, maybe you are interested in corporate etiquette. start your own YouTube Channel and start teaching the world corporate etiquette. You can imagine the number of views and you know the more people that subscribe to your channel the more money. Do you care about making people look real good, why not start a clothing brand, a makeup business or something in between. You get the idea.
As a media influencer you need to be passionate about a cause or be an expert in something people need and the online world is big enough to welcome your idea.
You can’t build a profitable and sustainable brand from taking your passion in a market where their are no problems to be solved or where people don’t care what your passionate about. A business where there’s already a market for, be smart you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, just a touch of difference. find your passion around helping people( not one or few persons) solve a problem they are willing to pay for. There has to be a demand. there reside a potential profitable, sustainable and scalable business.
As it were, what the masses usually think is, if they work really hard they would one day retire on their couch and have the freedom to pursue their passion. But that kind of thinking is fowl smelling. What if you could start living your best life and passion now when the bone is not tired so that you could have all the freedom to do what you want to do, when you want to do it, where you want it done and with whom you choose to work with. Why put off today passion for tomorrow’s when you could have the best of both world.
Do away with the old school thinking of learning to earn a paycheck building up someone else’s dream.
You can have 100% control of your own destiny all you want, work and live for more reason, and live you dream lifestyle.
Stay alive, be enthusiastic – always, live to the fullest because you are not going to be here forever. What lasting impression do you want to make with your brand? who you elp? make your life count, live it for others, catch the feeling!
